# Intranet

> The intranet preset installs company announcements, a knowledge base, a shared drive, channels, a staff directory, a company calendar and policies that people acknowledge.

The `intranet` preset is for the internal home of a company in the style of Notion or Confluence plus a news feed. Management posts announcements, teams keep their handbooks in the knowledge base and the drive, people talk in channels, and policies go out for everyone to confirm they have read them.

## Config [#config]

`npx better-supabase init --preset intranet` starts a new project from it,
and `npx better-supabase add --preset intranet` adds it to one you have
([CLI](/docs/cli/presets)).

## How the blocks connect [#how-the-blocks-connect]

An announcement can target everyone, some roles or some plans and expires on
its own ([announcements](/docs/blocks/announcements)). A policy in the drive
is sent for acknowledgement to users, teams or roles, with a due date, and
the block reminds those who are overdue
([acknowledgements](/docs/blocks/acknowledgements)). The employees block
supplies the directory and the manager chain behind it
([employees](/docs/blocks/employees)).

- A DataGrid for the staff directory with a filter per team.
